Snaggle Foot's Franchise History

You may be familiar Snaggle Foot as "Waggin' Tailz"--the original name of our company that served as our title from 2006 through April 2009. As part of our nationwide expansion, we decided that a new name would do us good: we wanted something memorable, unique, and unlike anything else out there. After a trip down memory lane, the company founder recalled a term of endearment she had for her brother's Beagle and thought it would be the perfect new moniker for the company ...Snaggle Foot! Karen Cockrill, the founder of our franchise, began her dog walking adventures in Chicago as a part-time dog walker as a college student.  After college, she returned to her home town of Houston to work as a consultant within specialty chemicals and plastics--where she stayed for a few short years before realizing her dream was to work with pets once again.

So in 2006 she left consulting and starting her own pet sitting and dog walking company: Waggin' Tailz Dog Walks & Pet Care. Karen started to enjoy success almost instantaneously, serving hundreds of pets and fielding requests for service from all over Houston within the opening year. 

It was an idea generated by her husband that encouraged her to grow the business by franchising the concept--an idea that spurred the company to where it is today. Karen is deeply involved with all aspects Snaggle Foot and thoroughly enjoys her role as the head support contact for franchisees. Her dedication to the company is instantly apparent to anyone who meets her: she truly has a heart for the business and is lead by her faith in all she does.

In February of 2010, Snaggle Foot made the decision to move the corporate headquarters and training facilities to Breckenridge, Colorado. Our new location in Breckenridge is located right on Peak 7 in the center of North America's most popular ski resort. We fell in love with the abundance of dogs and mountain charm of Breckenridge and are looking forward to hosting both new and current franchisees at our new facility.
